Zig Zag chair in natural cherry wood. Eschewing the traditional leg-seat-back sequence, Rietveld created a Z-shaped ribbon of wood. The craftsmanship of Cassina's carpenters is evident in the execution of the dovetail joints, which amplify the beauty of the piece. Its aesthetic singularity is found particularly well in the colored version, its open-pore finish highlighting the grain of the wood on the front and sides.
